Wayne Geiger, Pastor
First Baptist Grain Valley will be having two Easter services this year–8:30 and 11 AM. In our 8:30 service, we will worship with our sanctuary choir. Our 11 AM service will feature our praise band. Both services will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
Easter Sunday is a natural time to invite family and friends—and even strangers to attend services. Here’s a couple of reasons why:
► People need the Lord. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. We have the privilege of sharing the life-changing message of Jesus. During our Easter services, the focus will be on the resurrection and new life in Christ. If you do the inviting, God will do the rest.
► We are having breakfast! Our kitchen crew will be making pancakes and sausage for all who attend one of our two breakfast events in the gym. Our breakfast times are right before our worship services. The breakfast times are 7:30-8:15 or 10:00-10:45. You can come and go as you need to. This will be a delicious, fun time to gather together to eat and just enjoy one another’s company. Invite a guest to come sit with you.
► Most people will attend church if invited. Studies have shown that 4-out-of-5 people will come to church if they are invited. Easter Sunday is a natural time to invite someone to come. Pray about who you should invite. Maybe it’s a family member who hasn’t been to church in a while or even your next-door neighbor.
► Even people who are not overly religious or spiritual will consider coming to church on Easter. Many people who do not know the Lord still have respect for the day and will consider attending services.
Pray this week about who you can invite. I’ll see you Sunday!
